If you’re curious about our background in ‘tater diggin’ check out the post from last years harvest here.
This year we increased the sweet potato count to start with about 2,700 plants, and had friends volunteer to help with planting and harvesting. Each plant goes into the ground by hand and each potato is picked up from the dirt by hand. As with all the produce we grow for ourselves and to sell, this crop was grown using organic methods, no sprays or chemicals. We plant cover crops in the field during the off-season to protect and add nutrients back into the soil.
